Add an entertaining and informative day trip from Athens into your travel itinerary with this Percy Jackson tour of Ancient Corinth and Epidaurus. Our expert guide will show you around the significant archaeological sites of Corinth, Acrocorinth and Epidaurus as you explore the connections between these ancient centers, Greek Mythology, and the Percy Jackson stories. A private tour in a luxury vehicle, you'll have the chance to learn more, ask more, and see more as you spend the day immersed in the myths and legends of Ancient Greece.

What to Expect :

Tour of Corinth and Epidaurus begins when you are collected by our guide from your hotel in a comfortable vehicle.  Your first stop of the day is just an hour outside of Athens, when you reach the famous Corinth Canal. Although first conceived several thousand years ago, it was completed in the 19th century and is a natural photo stop.

After leaving the canal, the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth is just a short drive away. Here, you'll learn about the significance of Corinth in ancient times, see the place where St. Paul preached, and visit important areas within the complex such as the Agora and Temple of Apollo. Our guide will help bring the site to life, mixing expert knowledge of the area with Greek myths and even episodes from the Percy Jackson books. They will also point out the imposing presence of Acrocorinth, which will be the next stop.

Acrocorinth, or the Acropolis of Corinth, was used as a place of defense for millennia. It is intertwined with Greek Mythology, and there are the remains of a hidden spring and temple at the top. The views from here are incredible, so make sure your cameras have plenty of space and charge!

After a stop for lunch, the private tour then continues on to Epidaurus. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an incredible complex, famous for its two main areas. The first is the theatre, which has been designed in such a way that people in the seats furthest away from the center of the stage can hear the tiniest whisper. The second area, is the Asklepios healing sanctuary.

Our guide will demonstrate just how good the acoustics are in the theater, leaving you to ponder how people could have designed something that leaves scientists and archaeologists baffled to this day.  You will also be shown the Sanctuary of Asclepius dedicated to the God of Healing, and learn that people traveled hundreds of miles to be cured of their ailments here. Of course, there are links with the Percy Jackson books and Greek mythology as well, something which our guide shares in a fun and engaging manner. We’re sure you will love this day tour from Athens as much as we did while creating it!
